Members of The Hay Group and their terrific helpers cleaned up our part of Shoal Creek at Beverly Sheffield Park. Plus we made more than 200 “seed mudballs” with riparian wildflowers and plants, then threw them in the field next to the pond and along the creek bed. It’s going to be a beautiful spring at the park this year!

As a part of our continuing support of the Austin community, The Hay Group team members provided a beautiful Holiday dinner for one of Foundation Communities’ residential facilities Monday night.
We fed more than 70 residents of the Spring Terrace Apartments a bountiful meal, mostly prepared by our staff. The residents were very appreciative of the Holiday meal, and especially the abundance of sweet treats!
One resident declared “it was just delicious and felt great to have such a lovely home-cooked meal.”
Foundation Communities is a local non-profit that provides people with an affordable, safe and attractive place to call home, as well as opportunities right at their doorstep to transform their lives.
Congratulations to the Austin’s team of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital advocates who hosted the most successful Lone Stars and Angels Gala – raising more than $318,000 – and celebrated the 10th anniversary of the event. The event was chaired by the Firm’s John A. Hay III, who just completed his 4th year in that role.
“This year represents the reality come true of the vision laid out 10 years ago,” John said. He added, “without the hours of hard work of the St. Jude staff and volunteers, this great event would never have been able to achieve the success it has. I look forward to seeing the growth over the next decade.”
The 2016 Burnt Orange Benefit Tailgate, October 29, was a huge success. A generous donation will be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, on behalf of the attendees.
With outstanding barbecue – thanks to Stephen Smith – great drinks, great music from the Texas K.G.B and Aaron Navarro, we also had former UT All American, Cedric Benson, the newest member of the Security National Mortgage Company’s team on hand for pictures.

Volunteers pulled hundreds of pounds of trash out of our city’s newest park at the end of Pleasant Valley Road in South Austin. Running out of trash bags was indicative of the amount of trash and debris gathered.
Our own Beth Coffey joins 10 others as finalists for the Austin Young Chamber’s ChangeMaker Award. For the past two years, the AYC has honored two inspiring leaders in the market.
At their 3rd Annual State of AYC Annual Meeting on February 26, they will recognize and pay tribute to two more individuals who are doing extraordinary things in the Austin community.
Beth is an active member of the Junior League of Austin, performing weekly with the Playhouse singers in area elder care facilities.
