Patton VanVeckhoven is an Associate Attorney at The Hay Legal Group PLLC, with a legal practice centered on real estate and oil and gas transactions. With experience in both these areas, he brings a wide knowledge base to serve clients.
His real estate practice includes general representation of parties to commercial and residential transactions, preparation of loan documents, preparation of condominium documents, providing counsel to real estate brokerages, curing title defects prior to closing, and corporate entity formation.
In the oil and gas arena, Patton’s practice focuses on title examinations, preparation of drilling and division order title opinions, acquisition and divestiture representation, preparation and review of title curative documents, the negotiation of oil and gas leases, and corporate entity formation.
A native of Monroe, Louisiana, Patton received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi in 2006, and his juris doctorate from Charleston School of Law in 2009. Patton obtained an LL.M. (Master of Laws) in Real Estate Law from The John Marshall Law School in 2010, graduating with honors.
